Senior Manager, IS Project Office
Job Description
- Lead the Information Systems Project Office within MTN:
o Develop Business Plan and outline the objectives, goals and functions of the Project Office
o Develop, publish, and maintain comprehensive project management methodology, policy, procedures, and guidelines
o Acts as the primary control point for managing (monitor and control) all project within MTN Information System Group
o Advise the MTN Management on risk issues that are related projects and recommending actions to mitigate this risk
o Plan, manage and marshal resources effectively for the successful execution of IS projects
- Define and develop programme plans for the Unit
o Define methodologies for the Department
o Identify problems that affect the Unit and manage projects to achieve the development and implementation of solutions accordingly (includes planning in terms of funding staffing and resource acquisition)
o Ensure projects plans are aligned to the needs of all business units within the organization and the overall organizational objectives
o Prioritize and coordinate all projects
o Facilitate the development of project plans and ensure these are aligned to overall project plans (includes implementation, risk mitigation and contingency plans)
o Ensure all projects are well defined in terms of detailed project deliverables and time frames
o Review success of project planning post implementation
- Manage and monitor the implementation of all projects against the overall project plan
o Determine staffing requirements for each project, and allocate available resources to various projects
o Manage, coordinate and monitor the implementation of all projects against the project plans
o Identify reasons for delays in projects and plan activities to overcome these. Identify and respond to risks / escalated problems throughout the project cycle
Ensure the performance of project managers is up to the required standard during the implementation of the project plan
Required Skills:
- 5 years experience in Information Systems Project management
- 5 years experience with the Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC)
- 10 years experience in information technology
- 2 years experience in managing a Project Office
- Experience in Scope Estimation and Project Planning
- Experience in Project Costing and Budget Management
- Experience in Risk Analysis, Dependency and Mitigation
- Experience in decentralized project planning and centralized resource planning
- Experience in resource management across local and international boundaries in a large and complex, multi-disciplinary IT professional services/corporate environment is desirable

Data Centre Manager
Job Description
- Monitor status and performance of operating systems (Unix & Windows), servers, applications and databases
- Ensure adequate back-up for operating systems (Unix & Windows),applications and databases
- Manage overall reporting on operating systems (UNIX & Windows), servers, applications and databases performance
- Manage the overall network quality and monitor the IS network performance
- Manage the design, installation, upgrade and maintenance of all LAN items related to corporate offices and data center
- Manage the OMC and LAN support processes an ensure timely and appropriate fault resolutions/escalations
- Plan and ensure adequate capacity for all LAN requirements
- Ensure a stable operating environment (Power,airconditioning and physical security) in the Data Centers
Qualification:First degree in IT related field preferable B.Sc(expires on 1/25/2008 )
